Language Immersion Summer Camps
Spanish and English (ESL) Summer Camp for kids (3-17 yrs old)
Crossing Borders Language Immersion Summer Camp is designed to give children entering nursery through middle school a unique opportunity to spend their summer break having fun learning or improving in a second or third language. Students are grouped according to age, grade level and language proficiency.
Each Language Immersion Summer Camp schedule and details are described below under each language Program and location.
Sessions run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During each session, students participate in morning language classes and afternoon activities centered on the session’s specific theme. Beginner students will learn basic language skills to supplement the vocabulary linked to each theme. Students also take part in different types of outdoor activities, arts and cultural activities.
Experienced and qualified teachers staff our Language Immersion Summer Camp. Teacher ratio is about 12 per teacher.
Some of our afternoon indoor and/or outdoor activities will be taught in English, and may include drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, drama, dance and music.

SESSION 1: INTRODUCING OUR FIRST LATIN CARNAVAL! – Spanish Camp This year the fun includes preparing mouth watering Latin recipes. How about your own Latin Band, with instruments, such as congas and bongos? "Discover Your Own Treasure" in a scavenger hunt. Create wild masks from indigenous Latin American cultures during the arts activities. Create your own piñata. Try out Latin dances. Learn the three basic salsa steps, and then choreograph your own dance. Could there be a better way to learn conversational Spanish? Your children will remember this experience forever! SESSION 2: GLOBETROTTER'S ADVENTURE – Spanish Camp |
|
SESSION 3: LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! – Spanish Camp Why not give your child a chance to learn all about the history and evolution of the cinema! Campers can be a part of a hands-on, acting and production experience that will enhance their natural creativity and allow them to take center stage. They’ll make props, decorations, costumes, and explore the vocabulary related to this exciting theme. Laughter, giggles, and excitement will be in the spotlight for this fun session! |
SESSION 4: SAFARI ADVENTURE – Spanish Camp
Get ready for a summer journey off the beaten path as your child transforms into a safari explorer. This session will have kids take part in hands-on activities and role-playing. They’ll learn to describe and talk about savannahs, wild animals, people, art, music, and traditions. Students will even get a chance to create masks, costumes, and landscapes. Join us for a walk on the wild side!
SESSION 5: CIRCUS – Spanish Camp
Let’s have a blast in the circus caravan! We will be clowns, jugglers, mimes, tightrope walkers and magicians. We’ll make balloon animals and have face painting to cheer up the crowd. Let’s go to the circus!
