Brenda Gardner-Valdes, EdD

The school’s board director is Dr. Brenda Gardner-Valdes. She received a doctorate in education and curriculum from Texas A&M University in 1987. She is the former director of special education for a large Houston area school district and has served as the director school programs of a local special needs school and treatment center. She has over 25 years experience teaching and administering in Texas Education Agency and California Department of Education approved schools. She brings to River Oaks Academy a wealth of knowledge and expertise on curriculum, administration, and special education.
