River Oaks Academy (ROA) was established in 1988 to provide parents and the community a private school with tailored programming that welcomes students with unique circumstances and conditions. We specialize in using teaching strategies and skill building techniques designed to help those with problems related to attention, distractibility, impulse control, emotional control, noncompliance, learning differences and developmental delays. Our small student teacher ratios increase academic success and allow a high level of participation in  school life.

Enrollment is open year round.  Please be prepared to provide previous school information and records. door1s.jpgStudents from kindergarten through twelfth grade are served in classes with small student teacher ratios so that each one receives individualized attention.  At the high school level, an enriched curriculum is provided for those seeking college admission, and a career track is offered to those seeking to enter the workforce upon graduation. Some students have needs that vary widely from the desire for a small, personalized learning environment to services for those with learning differences and social emotional challenges. Program-wide supports and a range of therapeutic services that includes social skills training, and individual, group and family psychotherapy are available.
